What is Defensible Space?
Defensible space is the buffer that is created between a building on your property and the grass, trees, shrubs, or any wildland area that surround it. It is intended to slow or stop the spread of wildfire and protect your home from catching fire – either from direct flame contact or radiant heat.
Specifically for creating defensible space, we offer brush clearance on entire properties, trimming branches for truck clearance, and removing all dead, dying, diseased trees, shrubs, vegetation, and/or other combustibles as recommended by the Central County Fire Department, the San Mateo County Fire Department, and the Santa Clara County Fire Department.
